about

A song about endings.
It wasn't always happy, it wasn't always sad, but it ended. It always hurts when things end, when you realise that things were kept going for longer than perhaps they should have, and for perhaps the wrong reasons.
Love isn't always enough to keep people together, and coming to that realisation can be one of the hardest and most heartbreaking things - the realisation that you're two different people now, compared to who you were when you first met. While you may still care for each other, you've both changed too much, and clinging to each other for the memories of who you used to be, is just going to cause more hurt for both of you.
Love isn't always enough.

lyrics

I
will wear your ring
around my neck
to remind me of your words
And I
will wear your pain
upon my face
to remind me how you changed

when love left
These beating hearts
we clung to it dearly but
love is not enough for us to

sing
these happy songs
for a simpler time
They just don’t mean as much anymore
we
betrayed the words
though we never
thought that we would before

Before love left
These beating hearts
we clung to it dearly but
love is not enough for us to

about

Dee Mac Hobart, Australia

Dee Mac is a musician from Hobart. She tends to write in rather eclectic styles, and finds sticking to one genre a little too restricting. She realised a few years ago that she can't write short songs, and after trying to write pop bangers for far too long, she has finally embraced it, and now her songs tend to average 5-10 minutes long…

All in all, she’s just in it for the music <3
